Hi all. Been reading the excellant biography Of Peter Stringfellow ‘King of Clubs’, and it really does reveal a lot about the history of Sheffields pub and club circuit of the 50s 60s and early 70’s. Also fascinating insight into local youth culture and trends of the 60’s and the rise of the mega succesful MOJO club and the PENTHOUSE.
At the Inman Park theatre. BaconFest! is a celebration chock ful of bacon, PBR and Ale Yeah! beer; the event, also, features a silent auction, a wheelchair obstacle course and performances by Darling Norman. Pop up restaurants are a hot trend just now. Our own top chef, Paul Qui, just returned from participating in one in New York City, and the folks from the roving culinary adventure company Outstanding in the Field were in Austin last week hosting farm to table dinners at Boggy Creek Farm (with La Condesa’s Rene Ortiz and Laura Sawicki preparing the meal) and also at Green Gate Farms (where Lenoir’s Todd Duple and Jessica Maher did the cooking). Each dinner served about 150 people, at $200 per plate, and we’re told that many of the guests came from other cities and states to enjoy the meals.
I often wonder if that is the case of the chipmunk that eats our fallen birdseed in late fall and appears to have a burrow near the base of a veranda column. We sit on our veranda during warm autumn days as the chipmunk dashes past us, cheeks bulging with food it has gathered from our overgrown front yard, and once I put up our birdfeeders on the back porch in early November, that chipmunk crams its cheek pouches with oil sunflower seeds as late as December. Such oil rich food keeps it well fed even when the mast crop fails..
Place a large dutch oven on top of the stove with enough water in it to cover chicken. Place chicken in water if you need to add more water. Bring to boil, turn down temperature and simmer for 30 minutes to each pound of chicken. It has been suggested by some people I know, especially Londoners, that Norwich is situated somewhere in the Back of Beyond. Perhaps there is some truth in that after all, it is only 1 hour 50 minutes by train from Liverpool Street, but can take significantly longer in a car. There are no motorways in Norfolk, and even when travelling along some of the main ‘A’ roads, slow moving tractors can hold you up.
Governor, I salute you and would support you all the way! Gooden rob, I have no idea what you just posted? Care to explain properly.? Mr Peebles, if you notice, Piers is actually talking over Jesse and not letting him explain. That is why all these talkshow hoasts get paid, to be agressive and to stir things up, so you (the viewer) can be excited and watch the show again (ratings). Piers has to hold his own, whether or not he lets anyone speak or explain is irrelevant (or he gets canned and labeled as a wuss by his boss).
