Donna J. She was born July 12, 1935, in Harrisburg, Ill., the daughter of Jeff and Goldie Mae (Hunt) Aldridge. On August 6, 1954, Donna married James Litherland in Mount Carmel, Ill. Her grandmother worked at wildlife refuge. At first Martine didn’t think that her grandmother wanted to take care of her, but she learns that is not the truth. In Africa, Martine hears people talk about a White Giraffe that lives at the wildlife refuge; the Africans say that a girl who can ride that giraffe rules over all the animals.
